Hello world, I’m here with something completely different and I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed learning how to take flat lays (honestly, so much fun #blogger).
I have to admit that I am slightly obsessed with beauty, fashion and lifestyle bloggers and vloggers. I love pampering myself and making myself look incredible with the power of makeup and the lovely ladies that I follow help me to do that on the daily. I have spent a significant time curating an effective skincare regime for my face and thought I would share it, because someone might just find it helpful, and it makes me feel a little like I’m closer to those bloggers that I aspire to be like/make my friends (why do you all live in England!?).
A note on my skin: I have pretty normal skin that sometimes errs on the side of combination, with slight oiliness around my t-zone. I don’t get whiteheads, but I do have small blackheads on my nose and I get embarrassingly huge and sore hormonal nodule/cyst things on my chin (those under the skin, evil red bumps that take over my entire face). I also have approximately 1 million freckles.
A note on myself: I am really lazy and have always struggled with looking after my face because I presumed it would take SO MUCH TIME. I still battle with myself to take my makeup off at night. This routine takes very little time and is perfect for the lazy girl on a medium to low budget. Get that glow, y’all!
How and why I use them:
In the shower I grab a pinch of the cleanser and mix it with a splash of water then rub it gently all over my face. This cleanser is amazing, it smells of lavender, it is soothing and effective, and it doesn’t leave my face feeling tight and stripped. It also gently exfoliates, so I don’t have to have a separate exfoliation product, and that is big news for the lazy girl that I am. When I am clean and fresh I spritz on the toner, which takes forever to sink in and as I’m always in a rush I just pat it into my face. It feels good and wakes me up? I think toner is meant to tighten your pores or something after cleansing, so I use it.
Then I use my most luxury product of all time, my Tailor Serum. The reason I use this is because it’s AMAZING and because, well, we sell it at my work. I use a few drops and massage it gently into my face and neck. It smells delicious and it gives that natural glow we are all seeking in life. And it is AMAZING.
Finally, I use my all time favourite bae and cult-classic, the Garnier BB Cream in Light. It is so, so good, and so, so cheap. How?! Why?! What is this magic?! It smooths away redness and dark circles like a light foundation, but it leaves your skin looking natural and it moisturizes and arhghhg it’s just so good. It has SPF 15 so I feel confident that I’m protecting my skin in winter (in summer I use a face sunscreen with SPF50+). Bonus, it lets my freckles shine through. (I don’t wear foundation for the sole reason that it makes me look like I’m dying, my freckles need to shine, guys).
This routine leaves me looking like this:
So glow-y, so fresh, so in need of some concealer under the eyes, blush and several lashings of mascara! My skin is soft AF and I look cute though. Lazy girl routine win!
How and why I use them:
I use the Micellar Water on a cotton pad purely because I am, once again, incredibly lazy and the internet told me bad things about face wipes. I ain’t got time to wash my face! It is pretty magic at melting away makeup, and doesn’t smell of anything which is kind of perfect. I use the serum again because I love it and it just makes my skin feel so beautiful (it also makes me feel like a baller).
I then dot a tiny amount of the eye cream under my eyes and use my ring finger to pat it/gently massage it into the skin. This is a new thing for me. I started noticing little lines under my eyes and decided, NOT TODAY. And I had a $10 voucher for the Body Shop that I won at a hens do. I notice very little difference using this product, but it makes me feel like an adult.
And finally, my favourite product of the lot, Skindrink. Oh, my, god. I was searching for a night cream that didn’t smell like flowers and wasn’t made of excessive amounts of chemicals and didn’t cost 1 million dollars and I stumbled across this. It has sesame oil and avocado and primrose and all the other oils and is rich, creamy and my cat weirdly likes to lick my face after I use it. I dab a small amount around my face, massage it in and freak out because I look so shiny in the mirror. But it absorbs overnight and I wake up like a Goddamn glowing goddess. Too heavy for my skin in the morning, but perfect for the evening ❤
That my friends, is how I look after my face on the daily. If you have any questions about the products let me know. Do you use any of these products? Is there something you’re excited to try out? How do you look after your skin? Drop me a line in the comments below.
